Life Coaching

What is Life Coaching?

Life Coaching is a forward moving process embarked upon by two parties working collectively with the aim of guiding and empowering the coachee through change, to realise and maximise their full potential. It is a process which is designed and defined in a relationship agreement between a coachee and a coach. It is based on the coachees expressed interests, goals and objectives.

Life Coaching is not counselling, therapy or consulting.

Coaching facilitates a gap. It bridges the gap from where you are to where you want to be. It is a journey through the learning process to self discovery.

Why the need for Coaching?

Life is constantly changing and people evolving and searching for that something different, trying to find that something, that will fulfil and add meaning to their lives. We take the first step by expressing the need, and then take some actions to make that change. The need is for a higher quality of life. People turn to Life Coaching for a variety of reasons:

  • Self-esteem and Confidence building
  • Set and achieve goals
  • Motivation
  • Improve self-awareness
  • Life balance
  • Focus and stop procrastination
  • Make decisions and take action
  • Life Change

In essence the main reason is to embrace change. When facing a crossroads in our lives it helps to have a mentor or guide to facilitate the change.

The Coaching Process

The coaching process elicits empowerment and this facilitates forward progression and opens the door to change, which can lead to the realisation of ones full potential.

Coaching motivates and energises the coachee to solve the problem. A coach helps coachees to find their own solutions, by asking questions that give them insight into their situations. A coach holds a coachee accountable, so if a coachee agrees to a strategy to achieve a goal, a coach will help motivate them to complete the strategy.

The Coach and Coachee are both equally responsible for the success of the coaching relationship.
